We packed our bags in the morning and drove to Amsterdam. We visited Rijksmuseum and place where diamond cutters work, afterwards. We also got the chance to see some original paintings by Van Gogh in the Van Gogh museum / gallery. There is not much to say. We saw different interesting, beautiful, expensive things.
We had an hour and a half free. We really wanted to go eat somewhere, but it was either very expensive or very crowded. We had nowhere to go. There was literally no restaurants or places that we could go to. I think we went in the wrong direction looking for them and we had to settle with a hod dog stand for 4 € each and some old sandwiches from the past two days.
Then we supposed to go to Madame Tussauds. We had a reservation, but waited for at least half an hour. They told us that the lift is broken, and if I got it right they don’t have stairs. No stairs ? But you have a lift ? In the middle of Amsterdam, you do not have stairs ? Umm..okay. We got our money back and were actually quite happy about it. There were lots of stores and they promised us to let us go shopping. We got extra time by not going to the Madame Tussauds.
At the end of shopping my legs hurt so much that I was just waiting when will they stop carrying me and I would fall over. Fortunately, our bus came quickly and we were on our way back to Slovenia. I was very tired and slept most of the time. I don’t know what it was, because I felt completely fine before. I’ve slept a lot even when I came home.
Everyone was really happy about the little gifts I gave them. My family liked the cheese I brought them and we had a nice afternoon talking about the trip.
